Jays/Jackdaws?

Hello all.

Has anyone had experience of jays or jackdaws doing serious damage to crops or livestock? I work on a poultry and sheep farm and the boss won't tolerate them around new lambs or his chickens. We shoot carrion crows on the farm quite often as there's always a plague of them about, but I didn't think jackdaws would be too much of a problem?

Cheers, Ross.

Jays are as bad as magpies (after all they are from the same family), so don't get fooled by their good looks. Jackdaws will cause a lot of damage to crops and also poking holes in round bales with their beeks.
