RossEM
Hello all. Has anyone had experience of jays or jackdaws doing serious damage to crops or livestock? I work on a poultry and sheep farm and the boss won't tolerate them around new lambs or his chickens. We shoot carrion crows on the farm quite often as there's always a plague of them about, but I didn't think jackdaws would be too much of a problem? Cheers, Ross. ollie
Jays are as bad as magpies (after all they are from the same family), so don't get fooled by their good looks. Jackdaws will cause a lot of damage to crops and also poking holes in round bales with their beeks.

wildfowler.250
Plus they eat birds eggs and jackdaws are quite happy to help themselves to the grain from your pheasant feeder
