PM me and we'll set a date! Matt Just let me know some dates when you would like to come along and I will fit you in. Basic decoying and what to look for on a field , where and how to place a hide, and perhaps 1- 1.5hours pigeon shooting over decoys, subject of course to the pigeons being there, which they should be, but they do not come along in a box like their clay cousins. look forward to hearing from you soon and we can start the ball rolling. chefdon50
I have just put together a group of 6 experienced shooters, with a few more experienced guests to help, in the North Herts area. My aim is to be able to give an introduction to Pigeon shooting and decoying, and Rabbit shooting, both with shotguns and air rifles, to novice/ beginners, maximum 4 at any one time, guns will be available on loan, but anyone using their own gun must have a recognised insurance cover. The intro will last about 3 hours ,weekdays and weekends and you will be able to attend more than 1 session, the cost has not been finalised as yet, the thought is £25.00 but I will take advice from any readers of this topic. The intention is all monies raised will go back into the shoot to provide for more decoys, more guns and ultimately more opportunities for novice shooters. I am away on holiday for 2 weeks as of today 2nd June and will look forward to reading your comments. Terry Iam interested Began clays last November have own gun/insurance CPSA but north west shooter. Please PM me detials Don
andrew flavell
Cheers terry, appreciate the offer. I've one permission pending the next crop. Resorted to the airgun for squirrels on one of our shoots pens and some rabbit permission. No shotguns! Horses in fields. Good start. bakerboy
I would definately be interested in this. Do a bit of pigeon shooting but could do with someone showing me the ropes when it comes to decoying and recon works. Cheers Dan You seem to be doing pretty well without instruction, that was a good mornings shoot, you had. I went out on yesterday afternoon ,4.00ish spur of the moment, placed the decoys and the birds came in as I was placing the last few, they also came in as I was picking up in the centre of the pattern and more annoying still as I was packing up having run out of cartridges, total for just under 3 hours 30 woodies for 43 cartridges, a puncture on the wheel barrow made hard work of getting everything back to the car, A new customer for the birds if I shoot them with steel shot, (he breeds hawks etc) and a new hotel to take the pigeons as well, apart from the puncture and lack of cartridges a good afternoon Terry

Roly
Was out with Terry today (Friday afternoon) for a few hours and had a fantastic time. Plenty of Pigeons about, shame about my shooting though! Credit where credit is due and its great what Terry is doing in providing an opportunity for those that would like to have a go at decoying. Give it a go you won't be disappointed. A true gent and genuinely passionate about sharing his experience with others. Once again thanks alot Terry. Having a good response, I have set the price at £25.00 for the 3 hours, only 2 hours for none pigeon watch visitor's. Also offering 4 hour's of pigeon shooting at £50.00 including use of hides and decoys, instruction and mentoring I have arranged a bit of discount with local businesses related to shooting for first time attendees, and will be having fliers printed very soon to promote the instruction/offer, I do not like to be seen touting for business via pigeon watch forum, as I am sure that is not what it is there for. I will let you have another update later, now that I am starting to roll. Thanks to everyone who has helped or offered to help, especially, Nickbeardo, blackla, roly, webber and bigstevo hope his hospital visit went well. Top man Cheers Lee Thanks for the compliment you were great company, we will have to check the "lead content" of the cartidges as I do not think it was us. May be the pigeons in this neck of the woods are tougher than most, we were hitting them the feathers proved as much. Cheers Terry
Alfesti
I went out with Terry this afternoon and despite the heat keeping the pigeons away I got one, and learnt plenty. It was a really good confidence boost as Id only done clays before so having an experienced shooter explain everything is much clearer than trying to work it out on your own from magazines and forums. Thanks Terry, looking forward to coming back again, Matt

Guest HandleBar
Well my 8 year old had his lesson from Terry 'Bakerboy' on Saturday using Terry's .410 although he didn't get anything he throughly enjoyed his time and learnt a lot especially about safely handing a gun. I've been told he seems like a natural. See picture below, I know he'll want to go again soon Yes we checked it was unloaded and we had to show his mum why the camouflage clothing was necessary

Nice young lad with sharp eyes and plenty of patience, a shooter for the future, and yes I will be seeing him again. Bakerboy
