tbox
Went for a introduction to decoying lesson with Terry today. It was absolutely invaluable to me as a newbie and I learned loads about flightlines, set-up of deeks, hide placement etc. But the main thing I learned is I can't hit a cows bum with a banjo! Still a great way to spend an afternoon and managed to catch a couple which was great. Terry is a star. very patient, and encouraging. A great teacher. Will definitely be back soon!... Thanks Terry!! garethwatford
Hi everyone and to terry too, Having had a 10 yr break from shooting and speaking to terry i today spent the day with him after pigeons, after a brief talk and setting up of decoys we were in the hide and had a good day moving to 4 spots around the field, the wind was up down and sun was out and in, but birds were hit and i got my first in 10 yrs. if you have shot before or are new to the game, if you have not used decoys and want things explained, if you want a laugh and a good days lesson then terry is your man, i would advice any one who is looking for a good day and with very very good value for money and all the advice and help you can need then terry is your man. thanx once again terry and will be booking more days with you in the future. cheers gareth

wymberley
Handlebar, hi, Re the photo of your lad. I know it was a staged photo so all could not be as it may seem. However, looking at it while sitting in a chair hundreds of miles away and posting this just in case, it may just be a good idea to check his dominant eye. Hopefully, as explained above, my impression is wrong. Cheers

I will double check his eye dominance, but am convinced it was the size of the gun. I am pleased that yopu have taken an interest all of us need all the help and advice we can get. bakerboy

I hope all turns out well. Cheers, Phil Hi Phil No doubt we will speak again. Tim is a natural shooter, he swings the gun lovely. In fact at the last lesson , I was talking him through a potential shot and a pigeon came into veiw, the only thing that stopped him getting it, was that he caught the flesh of my hand in the gun as he closed it in a lovely flowing motion onto the bird, it was a shame I had to remove my hand from the working parts . bakerboy
ouch! good to hear things are going well up there Terry. Thanks for that Nick, I look forward to perhaps seeing you again soon. By the way I didn't say thanks to Tim, I ended up with a nice "blackmans pinch" if that is still politically correct say, but I had to compliment Tim on his reaction and swing. kwagga10
Hi Terry Me and my mate will also like to go on one of the decoy sessions. Please get intouch. Sounds like a great experience. Thank you
bakerboy
I have just put together a group of 6 experienced shooters, with a few more experienced guests to help, in the North Herts area. My aim is to be able to give an introduction to Pigeon shooting and decoying, and Rabbit shooting, both with shotguns and air rifles, to novice/ beginners, maximum 4 at any one time, guns will be available on loan, but anyone using their own gun must have a recognised insurance cover. The intro will last about 3 hours ,weekdays and weekends and you will be able to attend more than 1 session, the cost has not been finalised as yet, the thought is £25.00 but I will take advice from any readers of this topic. The intention is all monies raised will go back into the shoot to provide for more decoys, more guns and ultimately more opportunities for novice shooters. I am away on holiday for 2 weeks as of today 2nd June and will look forward to reading your comments. Terry PM on the way give me a call Terry

Guest HandleBar
me and the boy (all 8 years of him) had another session with the amazing bakerboy (AKA Terry) today and boy what a day it was! We set the decoys, and with Terry & the boy in one hide and be in another we bagged quite a few the pic attached is of my lad using terry's .410 having bagged 4 and certainly making a few more a little heavier!! I did try and research this evening to see if the North Herts pigeons had special Kevlar ferathers as I'm sure they seemed to be bulletproof!!! Had a great day and will definately be doing it again soon! Fantastic help and advice from Terry

SA Shooter
Thanks for taking an interest, I will get back to you with some dates later today. Cheers Terry Hi Terry Thanks once again for a great days shooting today we had loads of fun as the norm. I've enjoyed the new hide that you've setup today. It bring out a hole new challenge for shooter and pigeons with the 360 degree angle that you can shoot and birds comming from all directions. I had myself almost tied in a knot at one stage. See you soon for more action with the scatter gun LOL!
kwagga10
Hi Terry Just a quick thank you for a brilliant days shooting today. As always you delivered the goods... SAshooter and myself had a great time and had a lot to talk about on our drive home, like the shot of the day and so on. I am proud of my 5 birds 7 shots record... you must be doing something right! I will post the photos as soon as I can. Thank you PS. On some Berettas you need to switch off the safe after you closed the gun...
