djrwood
I am struggling to get permission around where i live. I have been succesful in getting permission on a landfill site but this is more than an hour drive from home. Im thinking of going round to the farms in the area but was wondering what i need to ask? Do i ask if they need help getting rid of pests or do i just explain that i ama keen shooter looking for land to shoot pigeon and rabbit on? Also is it rude for me to simply show up and knock on the door of their farmhouse? I really dont want to **** all the local farmers off. Many thanks, i look forward to your advice. wymberley
Hi, never easy. If you can do a recce from the public highways or paths (ie not on the farmland) and try and find pigeons, whatever, feeding. Then go and explain to the farmer what you've seen, that you're insured (BASC?) and can you be of help. Go smartly dressed and never in shooting kit and never, ever, at mealtimes. Good luck, Cheers
vampire
You gotta knock on the door to speak to em,depends on you as to wether they get ****** off or not.You are asking;- if you could shoot pigeon/rabbit on their land,or do they have anyone controlling em,or do they have a rabbit problem. If you look like the farmer and sound like him helps to fit in and you probaly already do and have insurance etc,if you look like a hoodie on bike i would just peddle past Remember ALL farmers are armed and grumpy and eat their young for breakfast and townies for tea,so do not upset him, if your lucky he will only set the dog on you Although that might be only in suffolk ATB Karl
