anser2
It will depend on the weather , but it will probably well into July before they start to harvest it in Norfolk this year. If the weather is wet you will need to be on it pretty quick as once the waste seed starts to sprout ( less than a week after rain ) the pigeons will not want to know it. SSS
July or August mate. You may have more luck decoying on grass where the pigeons are feeding on clover
Harnser
The seed in the pods will start to turn black . In my part of the country it will be about mid July . Your famer will ,if combining the crop will spray it off when the seeds are black to stop further growth and then combine with in 10 days . Or swathe cut the rape and again combine with in 10 days . If your farmer swathe cuts the rape you will be a very lucky man and will shoot a lot of pigeons . Harnser .
