nickcass23
Just after a little advice, got myself a nice second hand Remington 700 vls in .223 today and wandered what you guys think is the best way to mount a S&B 8x56 scope with a 30mm tube. Money is a factor as I've spent nearly all my budget on the rifle , moderator and scope! I am waitin for a call tomorrow off a friend but just thought I'd put it out there and see what happened! Thanks!!!!!!!!!
steve_b_wales
Get the best set of mounts that you can afford. Don't buy 'cheap' ones, as they will probably let you down in time. When I bought a set of Optilok mounts/rings for my Tikka T3Lite, and paid over £100 for them, I thought I was mad, but they are the best. pigglet
I'm in a similar position and have also been advised that it's worth lapping the rings in.
cleaner4hire
i have a leupold 1pc standard base and burris signature rings on my rem 700. No complaints at all, no lapping as they have plastic inserts like the optilocks and it wont break the bank.
