rtaylo29
******** SOLD ****************************** SOLD ************************ Hill & Son of Folkstone 12g hammer gun - single barrel shot gun made early 1870s. This is an early breech loading single barrel. Difficult to find an early single like this. Many early singles are normally tired or worn with a large proportion being scrapped over the last several decades. This one is excellent and locks up tight and the action is as crisp as a pack of walkers! Proofing good - re-checked last year (only put 20 shots through it since). Damascus - long 33" barrel, nice clean walnut stock, re-cheqeuering touched up a few years ago. Retains original finish, nice engraving with 'Hill & Son of Folkstone' on lock. Original steel butt plate (stock length untouched). Barrel bore - no pitting and as clean as a cats whisker! May SWAP or P-EX for antique (Article 58) pistol or musket / long gun OR for SALE - £295. I know some modern singles can be as cheap as chips. But an old single like this, is quite rare and collectible. Thanks for reading, Rob. SGC Rules apply, F2F or RFD. Blackpowder
Nice bit of kit that, and as you say rather unusual to find a single barrel gun of this quality. Could this have been a live pigeon gun by any chance? Blackpowder.
