Maidment78
Went out for a shoot yestreday afternoon, arrived at the farm and there was nothin in the sky, walked round the main fields and nothing. Thought I ould set up anyway and just have a sit and wait and see if anything turned up but not a thing, saw about 10 birds over 4 hours at long distances flying very high. This normal? I had a good shoot there last week but I am quite sure i did not get all the birds in Wiltshire,,,,,
12borejimbo
It always helps to do a bit of recon before you plan on setup up anywhere random, or atleast know where things are so you can have a go at something.
UKPoacher
Three weeks ago could predict there the birds were - on the clover or on the set aside barley. Fortunately the fields are adjcent. Today there were pigeons on the set aside, some on the edges of sown barley fields and loads on wheat. As the harvest comes they will have even more choice to go at. If there were no birds in the air where you were then you probably were in the wrong place. You need to drive around and find them.
Billy.
The question is: what were you shooting over?
Maidment78
Clova and set aside, this is all that they were feeding on on the farm as he has large amounts of corn and barely and they are not touching this yet.
