Scolopax, The Irish hare is the same species as the scottish mountain hare. The only difference being that the scottish mountain hare turns white in winter and the irish hare does not. The irish hare is smaller than the brow hare, thus having smaller ears.

Thanks Ive. I have gotten over the problem of glare by placing the lamp conected on its side. Its a Light Force scope mounted lamp, so does not have a dimmer switch, but i find it very good with a adjustment to turn it into a tight beam.

Mark, your right, i try not to show too grafic a pic. The hare was shot threw the right side of the chest and the bullet exited out the left, leaving a 2 inch exit hole.

Fisherman Mike, i have already explained about the law concerning shooting hares over here in southern Ireland. ;)

Thanks all.

Try this for the glare problem you had, have. MODERATOR COVER

This shop is a bit expensive for some things but you might find this elsewhere.

All the best

Adam

Hello Adam

I think it might be me your refering to on the issue of moderator glare as Frank has'nt fitted one yet ...............But he soon will ;)

I could understand if my mod was S/S but it's got a Parkerdised Matt coating .The problem I have is that i can't adjust the beam to pass over it .

Still for the price a bush muffler is worth a try ..............The only other alternative being raising the lamp off the scope itself.

Cheers

Had the cammo bush muffler for my birthday, not had chance to go out lamping yet, but it looks great. Before i had this i used an old black sock over the T8, and that stopped the glare (and yes it was a clean sock ;) ) A bit of insulating tape to hold it in place, doe's the job until you get a Bush muffler

John Boy, it is an Irish hare mate, they have smaller ears than the Brown hare.

The exit hole did not do too much damage to the meat actually. Im skining it tommorow, if you all want to see the exit hole, let me know. I dont want to post it and offend anyone. ;)

Ive,

i have a schmidt/bender 3-12x50 scope and a scope mounted clulite lazerlite

Kip

Read my question again  ..................Never mind .........I'll type it again...........Scope LAMP?? :)

Can you not adjust the beam also to go over the top as i'm not convinced a muffler will do the trick.

Convince me please

Not quite getting your question Ive

I use a clulite lazer lite mounted on the scope, with the standard mounting kit from clulite, will post a pic tomorrow, with the t8 and muffler and lamp fitted

Basically Kip I use a 400m Deben Tracer and it's a fairly wide beam and I can't raise the beam to clear the T8 but if your telling me that a muffler will diffuse this unwelcome reflection I'll give it a go mate.

It's just that I'm surprised the coating on a T8 is reflective thats all ;)

So your T8 Ive, will have a sexy look about it then?

I had the same problem of reflection back up the scope from the fromt sight on the end of my rifle.

I over came this by attaching the lamp in the side of the scope and now have no reflection what so ever. ;)

It should work with the T8, but i would not garantee it as its a bigger object, but worth a try.

If you want me to post a pic demonstrating this, i can, if you want. ;)

I would have used her G-String Frank but as she is a big Lady there was too much material left over

I tried the lamp on the side mate but that did'nt work either .It was only when I swapped to a smaller 100m cordless tracer lamp that the problem was over come because the beam was more direct and focused with this piece of kit and literally passed over the T8.

I will try the muffler though ...................It's only £8 ...............I can afford it Mark
