Jack Pyke Countryman boots

Ive had a pair for 2 1/2 years now and what i will say is you pay's your money and you takes your chance.

by that i mean there good but there not great, firstly there not that water proof dont expect them to replace a pair of wellies as any water that is deaper than 3" means wet foot and even in longe grass your feet will be damp my other gripe is the insole's they slip when you go down steap turain and then it feals like youve got a rock in your boot. i have ended up takeing them out ironing them flat then re glueing them and puting some extra insole's in. on the pluse side when they were new they were very comfotable they also seem very durable the sole's on mine have all but worn away yet the stiching is still intacked and they are still suportive.

would i by another pair probbly not due to the water profing issue still for £70 they are good value when you compair them to other brand's.

Hope this helps. :good:

:good: Destroyed a pair in one season, the lack of stitching around the sole

Same here! They were waterproof for a few months then turned into a sponge. Sole came apart at arch of foot. Found them uncomfortable. The insole kept slipping forwards after the first few times out & I ended up buying gel insoles for them. They were cut really easy by brambles etc. I cleaned them after every outing & looked after them very well but they ended up looking very old in a very short time. They may be ok for the shooter that goes out once or twice a fortnight but for regular use in the field IMHO I would look for something else.

I was really disappointed with them & would not buy again.

scotcountry: They have new range coming in and have been discounting previous stock. I got a pair of Laksen prohunter extreme for less than £100. Superb boots, worn nearly every day and have not yet let water in, very supportive and great grip in any condition.
