Just a few snaps from trees that I have been up recently

Well the shooting's definitely been easy of late  Which makes up for all the mud, cold, and fogged up glass in the winter months

Ok here they are:

A freshly cut hay field on a sheep farm - I knew foxes would appear from the wood to the left or in front and the best conditions I could hope for... a gentle breeze blowing down the field from behind me and into the woods (as I was nice and high that was fine by me). I put a little dog food on top of some hay around 100 yards out - nice and comfortable angle for a shot and great backstop.

It was great to see a fox working its way up the field straight to the bait....nose in the air pretty much the whole way and not distracted once, dropped that one at 100 yards just as it reached the kill zone. Another appeared right on dark - I had no lamp - and I got that one at 45 yards.

Another night, another tree. This time at a Chicken farm and we'd taken 2 cubs from the far woodland edge on the lamp but one was shy of the lamp. I sat patiently another night, enjoying the sights - was watched by a couple of owl chicks (more or less full size barn owl or tawny owl size but all fluffed up with chick feathers, that was quite a sight - light too poor to snap those). The cub (reasonable size now) appeared at 9:30'ish and came out of the woodland and sat on the grass (luckily they keep this place like a golf course so no hiding in the grass today  ). I dropped that one at 220 yards with the .223

Finally, back at the sheep farm, but the other side now, in one of only two wheat fields. The farmer had cut a chunk out of the middle and dumped a load of chicken dung, gosh that draws a fox or two. An adult vixen this night, taken at 150 yards with the .243 - my mate had taken a cub the previous night and spotted an adult that he couldn't get a shot on. Knowledge that was used to good effect

Summer's here and the shooting is easy :w00t:

Cheers
