Breastman
If you have a specific calibre on your FAC thats all you're allowed to get, although there are one or two exceptions e.g. .308 on FAC you can normally get a 7.62x51mm as they are almost the same, likewise a .223 is almost the same as a 5.56x45mm. However .222 and .223 are entirely separate calibres. If it said ".22 Centrefire" that might be a different story  Mark

jonesbach
phoned firearms just to double check the whole thing... Dyfed powys police say that the two rifles are different and need to be applied for separatley. you can not purchase one if the other is stated only on your licence! careful what some firearms dealers in shops say i guess..!?! :look: Edited August 5, 2010 by jonesbach
ajb403
there are one or two exceptions e.g. .308 on FAC you can normally get a 7.62x51mm When my license was sent to me stating "7.62X51mm" I sent it straight back and got them to amend it to "7.62X51mm / .308" to avoid any complications. Gonna check Billy-know-nuffink They both are .22 (centrefire) calibres?? And both use the same .224 diameter bullet. However in firearms licensing .222 and .223 are different calibres When my license was sent to me stating "7.62X51mm" I sent it straight back and got them to amend it to "7.62X51mm / .308" to avoid any complications. Me too, wanted to keep my options open :look: Mark
