Dead-Eyed Duck
Boot space is the limiting factor with the Yeti, great car otherwise. If I had the choice I would probably plump for the VW Tiguan given the extra boot space...probably in 2WD for the extra mpg too. I rarely need the 4WD if driven sensibly with the right tyres, and know your limits!! Plus the extra mpg is worth the ££££ over the miles!! The difficulty is of course when you are driving down a muddy track and your wheels start spinning, and you will then wish that you had bought the 4 x 4 version. Been there - learned the lesson. Try knocking on a farmers door at midnight to tell him you are stuck and can he help - he will love you no end....
Hamster
Is there an option to leave the badges off, you know like with Beemers and Mercs?

Dead-Eyed Duck
Is there an option to leave the badges off, you know like with Beemers and Mercs? I used to have a Skoda Octavia 4 x 4 and chav daughter stated that she would not accept a lift in it ( a blatant lie as the alternative was to get a bus). So, I scanned in a BMW logo and stuck it over the Skoda badge on the front, and she was quite happy. The other side of the coin was that daughter's friend bought an Audi TT, and very proud of it she was too - until daughter pointed out that many of the switches etc were just like dad's Skoda Octavia  Daughters - who'd have them
Hamster
I totally understand the badge schmuck argument is a lost cause, ultimately you are right and I'm wrong. Skoda make better cars than most, but a few years ago I had a driver turn up at my door with one as a temporary company car for a new job and my heart sank when I saw it was a Skoda. I rang them up and demanded at least an Astra and in the end had to drive 50 mile round trip to Dover to swap, silly yes, absolutely .
