crieffy
I think it's a Salmon?
henry d
Kelts are salmon that have spawned, and are in poor condition ie.very thin. They try to drift back downstream towards the sea, some will make it and will resume feeding and may return that year to,hopefully, spawn again.A lot will not make it,mainly cocks, and will die and this in turn helps feed scavengers through the lean winter months. It isn`t a nutritious feed as the Kelt has used a lot of the fat and lean body tissue to get to the spawning redds(grounds) to fight for a mate and produce eggs and milt(sperm). I`m busy resizing a few photo`s and will post them soon.
