njc110381
Well supposedly cattle can choke on plastic wads, and they don't biodegrade. I use fibre for everything myself because of that, I hate the idea of litterring the countryside with old wads! The pro of plastic is supposedly tighter patterns. Not sure how much truth there is in it but I feel that the difference they make wouldn't make any odds to the kill ratio of the average shot. In fact I doubt even a pro would lose many birds because they were using fibre? Anyway, one Pigeon per 100 rounds is a small price to pay for not leaving a mess behind you for years after your day out!
AlistairB
I tend to go for fibre for the very same reason, but i guess it depends where you're shooting and what their rules are. AB
ste 2712
Thanks for the helpful info. a lot of my permissions have horses on the farms not so much cattle so i suppose the same rule would apply for them choking to! i think il use fibre better safe than sorry! many thanks steve
Vince Green
Even if your land owner doesn't object to plastic wads because of the livestock they are usually much more visible lying on the ground and it creates a bad impression. Fibre wads are virtually invisible.
