andybk
hi all i have a lanber multi choke magnum , any one know the choke codes ? they have 3 , 5 ,7 and 10 stamped on them , also may be a silly question but there is also a set of extended chokes (approx extra 2" ) what are these for ?, all the best andy
dunganick
my lanber chokes only have the markings in the front of them. and work inthe same way as conventional chokes. 0 notches being cylinder, 4 notches being improoved cylinder, 3 nothces being 1/2, 2 notches being 3/4 and 1 notch being full. the extended chokes are meant to give better patterning, and as far as im aware this is the only purpose they have. they also add a little length to the gun and slow your swing very slightly. what model lanber is it and what type of extended chokes? any pictures? andybk
thanks , its a over and under magnum ,looks like a 2087 by the side plates but the ones on there are fixed choke , so maybe a 2085 , but thanks anyway all the best andy
dunganick
if you take the gun to a good gunshop, they can compare the bore measurement of the gun to the chokes and tell you what they are.
30-6
I have a Lanber with the same choke as on the left of the picture (the shorter one). Bought the gun new in about 1985/86 - field model - external chokes are as follows :- 0= cyl 3=1/4 5=1/2 7=3/4 10=full Tip - if the safety comes back on after firing the first barrel, stopping you from firing the second barrel, it's probably the spring under the safety has snapped (common on Lanber's), some springs are "flat" some are "round wire", make sure you replace with the flat type.
