Having owned the 9500 and its updated 9600 i can vouch for the quality and performance of both , but when i see comments saying it's as good as a DSLR Nikon or Canon i must stop you there and say TOSH and not a patch on the semi pro Canons and Nikons DSLR's even with kit lens's.

I have a Canon 30D in the sales classifieds at the moment and the quality of the pictures of even the kit lens is stunning and sorry the Fuji finepix can not compete.

I have only made this post as you have sold the camera now and did not want to put any buyers off your sale but i know the new buyer will be made up with the Fuji 9500 it's a excellent budget bridge camera and a good way into photography.

Nice to see some good things about the Fuji and reading a few reveiws on other sites ,they say it a nice entery level camera (which it is for me ) . so i cannot wait for it come and start snapping .

You won't be dissapointed in the pictures rabbithunter that's for sure and not many cameras get the full 10/10

I started digital with an S5000, then went to a Canon 300D then a 20D which I still use. The Fuji's are a great carry around camera and for general snapping can compete with anything. They're plenty good enough to print A4 to hang on the wall, it's only when you start to really examine the pics that they fall down and who does that with everyday photography, if the pic looks OK then it is OK.

It has the advantage of not having to swap between a standard lens and a telephoto, it goes upto 300mm which is very handy and has a macro mode that competes with my cannon 450. I upgraded to a samsung gx10 when they first come out, which was almost 3 times what I paid for my fuji(the same as the pentax gx10) and felt myself longing for my fuji.

Also dont let people knock it, there are plenty of filters and even wide angle lenses that will fit on like a 58mm filter. For the money you can't knock it, and anything you cant achieve on the camera you can soon tweak on photoshop. It also has the advantage of being able to crop and recompose the photo whilst still on the camera.
