seeker
1,450 kg is probably the barrel weight - the proof load should be in BAR .. and stamped on the monoblock under the bottom barrel Marocchi is Italian .. ? so there should be a two letter year code next to the figures

Bloody hell theyre going to take a bit of balancing! What bore is it? 155mm!! As its a continental gun it will probably be proofed in KG/Square CM. 450 kg might be the proof pressure in KG per square cm 450 equates to 459 BAR I think. arjimlad
Continentals use the comma where we would use a full stop.
seeker
450 bar would be a cartridge pressure and within the CIP limit. Ig you want to start reading up on proof BASC has several docs on pressures and steel ... www.basc.org.uk/download.cfm/docid/88E5375B-A1DA-4507-AC971F02CC7E8CEE
