Stretch
Just a post to vent my frustration. Geese been on one of my permissions for about 10 days, about hundred of the damn things. Been around all my permissions tonight, being the start of the season and all and can't find 1 of damn things. My new found interest in ruins after the first day . Where should i be looking for them.......................... Besides the obvious (water) before anyone suggests it lol. Don't have any water on any of my permissions. Pinkfooty
Maybe rumours of a potential "wipe out" reached their ears. Seriously though, that is one of the great things about wild birds, rather than tame reared ones. You never know what they are going to do. Part of the challenge is outwitting them - and it ain't as easy as some folk think. Now that you have experienced the frustration, join your local wildfowling club and learn more about the sport from some of the "old hands". If you get bitten by the bug, you soon won't even think about shooting ducks and geese on a field if there is the chance of a dawn flight on the foreshore available as an alternative. One of the great things about living in Britain is that there is no point in the UK that is more than 80 miles from the sea and 90% of the population live within 40 miles of the sea - so coastal fowling is genuinely open for everyone. Good luck in your quest. Edited September 2, 2010 by Pinkfooty
