marco you missed another one
Hi Gents, We were planning to go shooting this Sunday but our scout (Shawn) went out today and checked all his land and the only birds that he could find were two Crows (on round about 2000-4000 acres, took Shawn nearly 3 hours to check it all). Now we don't know what to do if to go or not. Where do you think that all the birds are? Would you still go ( I would) ? Do you think that they my be there on sunday? I think the condition will be perfect and the moral will be sky high the only thing will be the Birds? I know that you will be not able to forecast if it will be a good shooting day, i would like your opinion and what you would do? Thanks Marco
Cranfield
I would still go, but choose an area next to trees ( a wood preferrably). Round here the birds seem to be spending most of the day in the woods and visiting the fields for short feeding spells. This could be why your Scout didn't see them. A good layout using lots of decoys near to the woods/trees could pull them in. Good luck.
henry d
As Archie said on many an occaison"Time spent on reconnesance(?)is seldom wasted" So spend an hour or two just after sunrise and check out the flightlines, then get under them and shoot a sack load. Best of luck,we can`t shoot on Sundays (and I`m dayshift)
