BLAZE33
Are there any of you great chefs out there with a good recipe for Grouse. The first one i cooked tasted like dried earth, although the last one wasnt too bad(young bird)(SORRY YOUNG GROUSE).?
henry d
I made a grouse and steak pie........ I ended up throwing the steak away as it was detracting from the delicate flavour of the grouse. I just skinned them and de-breasted them and roast the carcase in an oven covered lightly with oil, then made a stock with them. Make an onion gravy with the stock and then throw the flash fried breasts into a pastry case of your choice and finish off cooking in the oven !!!!! Blackbart
Grouse is right up there with hare. Try some really hot chillies and a nice phall paste cook for 7 hours and maybe it will taste OK.
