anser2
It’s a bumper year for acorns in my area and with the huge rise in the price of corn it might be worth sweeping up a few bags of acorns after the recent winds. Its hard work doing this in a wood , but if you can find a quiet country lane where the acorns fall onto the road its quite easy to sweep and shovel up a few bags of acorns off the road. If they are squashed by traffic they will only keep a month or so , but if whole they will last the whole season and the best part is they are free. ollie
I get free mouldy potatoes from a local potato farmer and I also use crab apples (chop up with a spade) which supplements the grain.
