JMW
Hi, I have a Mossberg 590, it has an 18 inch open choke barrel with the 6 inch extension to make it legal length. I have been in contact with Mossberg USA and they do not make a barrel with multi choke option or vari choke as the 590 is designed for "self defence". Is it possible to have the barrel threaded to take aftermarket extended chokes? Even with the extension? It would make the gun more usable for both practical shotgun and vermin control. Any experience, advice or suggestions apart from swapping it for a M2 or 870 as I'm quite fond of her. Thanks Jon
Paddy Galore!
yes mate, give nigel teague a call, costs quite a bit, about £300 a barrel, but most of this is postage and proof house charges, the work comes to about £150, and includes 2 chokes of your choice.
