ROBLATCH
strange but true guys, was more than willing to purchase a gun from a guy off here ( and recently purchased a few from him WITH NO BOTHER ). well along story short////////// arranged to buy another transfered to the same rfd as i,ve always used but not thinking to contact first because all has gone smoothly in the past (my fault) for not contacting. however when i did contact the said rfd could not carry out the service because his ticket was in for renewal. now then !! i contacted another rfd ( which whom i have traded with previously) to ask if they could take transfer of the gun AND GUESS WHAT, yess robert we can BUT!!!!!!!! you need to send your cert to whom you are purchasibg the gun from and they will fill it in then send the gun to us for transfer ( not likely will i send my cert to anyone whether i know genuine or not) then we will transfer the gun to you. even the guy who i was purchasing the gun from contacted them to be told the same, I have never ever heard such rubbish before whilst transfering or the odd sale i,ve made SO GUYS be aware there are some can we say a little un intelligent dealers out there, dont fall for their actions many words not spoken. very dissapointed a good deal merely lost. Mungler
I have heard of RFD's doing this. I understand that this is to make sure it's "legally" a transaction between private sellers and the RFD has no liability at all. I understand that if the RFD takes in the gun from whoever is selling it (and it goes on the RFD's ticket) then if he moves the gun onto you, even if he writes "given" on the box on your ticket he can still be held responsible if the gun is damaged, un safe or out of proof etc.
Canis
I have heard of RFD's doing this. Clearly in doing this the RFD can be held responsible by the purchaser for the usual unsafe/proof issues though theres nothing stopping the RFD from refusing to accept the gun from the seller if he has concerns. It would be interesting to get some confirmation if the transaction method suggested by roblatch's new RFD. is a legal transfer ?
