barney 66
Hi,not sure if this is the right place to post but i'll give it a go,i have the above rifle and the trigger is very heavy, not sure of the exact pull weight,is there any way i can lighten it without putting a trigger kit in at around £80ish,it has no adjusting screws, can i put a lighter spring in it? i ahve had it apart to make sure it wasn't gummed up and its clean as whistle so it would be a simple job if this is the done thing? thanks for looking, Chris
Scully
I have a M77 Ruger(the first model)and it had a terrible factory trigger also.I bought the replacement kit. A mate of mine (when we shot pistol) polished the sear on one of his guns to lighten the trigger. It worked fine, but rendered the warranty worthless when he wanted a repair doing on it,so take care. Thanks for that but this will be way out of warranty anyway,so anything i can do myself will save money,i am more than capable of carefull filing and polishing in the right places and replacing any parts, must remember safety always comes first before the money side of things, Thanks Chris. mikee
ive got a Ruger m77 mk2, i took it to the gun smith last week hoping he could reduce the amount of trigger creep, the previous owner had the pull adjusted and it breaks consistently at 1lb 12oz, which is very nice but it has lots of travel, he reckoned it is quite a job to alter as there are no adjustment screws, its a process of trial and error by taking it to bits, altering it and putting back together as many times as it takes to get it right, perhaps its best left to the professionals mikee
