yankeedoodlepigeon
Hi all. Found this running around on the floor. Went to catch it and it flew off. When I cought up with it I managed to get it in some tissue and tried crushing it and it just crawled out.(not good) eventually managed to crush the abdomon to kill it and took a photo. But what looks like a wasp and is as hard as a Flea?

yankeedoodlepigeon
Hi Vampire I think your right didn't notice a big stinger on it but it was trying to sting me. Googled it and looks the same. Thanks for that.
Fisherman Mike
No its not a wood wasp but similar. Its a species of Ichneuman wasp What exactly Im not sure. I used to be an amateur entomologist when I was younger generally they are parasitic and lay eggs in live prey. Caterpillars being favourite.... If you have ever seen a dead crysalis of a cabbage white caterpillar with a yellow ball of fluffy cotton wool like stuff next to it its normally been a victim of an Ichneuman wasp of some species
