Themacclad
Good Morning, Can anyone offer any advise in regards to exhaust gas staining directly from the gas ports onto the chamber. The chamber shines up lovely except where the ports first leaves the barrel. I've tried Parker Hales 009 but that does nothing, the only way to remove it is by scrapping it off, but I really don't want to scratch it up. Can anyone recccomd a strong cleaner or another method ? Many Thanks ............. Jim
remington1187
I use a wire brush a MOD issue one which i believe is copper? This gets it off easily with no damage to the magazine tube. Prior to shooting I also give a light oiling to the tube which means that the rest of it simply wipes off after use. Thanks Remmi
henry d
As above, I used a wire shoe brush for suede shoes.
DSPUK
Use a scotchbrite pad with Solvol Autosol chrome cleaner -- Once you have mag tube and all cleaned use Semi Synthetic engine oil on tube - just dip your finger in a bit and wipe it round tube and parts - all the carbon will wipe off - I have tried it on other semi's and it doesn't work - I did that to my 1187 SC for a good 7 years till gun literally fell apart. --Good shooting and pointing gun but it's made of bean cans Dave
