scout
Not sure about Newnham but there is a place in Landrake which is good, Cart Ridge World or something similar. Only 20 min drive from Plymouth. Contact 01752 851262 / 07703482261. From memory the guys name is Dave.
Catamong
I believe it's still being run as a shooting ground, but only for the Corporate market. That's a pity, because it is very good ground, very similar to Hodnet, the only problem is its location. Cat.
steve0146
cart ridge in saltash are almost never open. I also live in plymouth and wouldn't mind shooting a few clays. I need the practice!

Sucks about Newnham though.... as you say Cat, it is a nice ground tis a shame I could use the practice too Steve, would really like to hone my skills for beaters day.. a long way off i know but i am quite monumentally bad at pointing the barrles in the right place! Cheers for the advice guys. anyone know what day Cart ridge is open? maybe meet up with some local yocals to show me how its done Thanks again BR90
Hacker
Cart Ridge is a good shooting ground, with a great layout. Dave Dingle & family are always really friendly. He holds registered level sporting shoots every couple of weeks though the summer and once a month through the winter (don't quote me on that though). He has a fair selection of gun too. I am visiting friends in Plymouth this weekend and we hopefully be having a shoot as I think he's shooting this Sunday (Ill find out for definite and update this post). The last time I visited it was 27p/clay, not the cheapest but I always enjoy the targets. Edited September 29, 2010 by Hacker
