Spaniel
Hi Im sure i have seen these advertised some where, but just cant find them.... As anyone used one of these keel motors on their duck decoys, which add movement to the pattern etc, i seem to find a few items for sale in the USA which look pretty good, but wondered if they would work over here, as most of our shooting is done Dawn and Dusk time... Cheers

Spaniel
umm thats interesting, i have just found the propeeler keels on ebay for about £6 so i am waiting on a reply if they will sell an individual decoy as the ones to fit their decoys are powered by aa batt and the ones to attach to any decoy on the keel is ran my a D batt, so i guess they will be slightly heavier
henry d
Tie another line to the eye of the decoy/decoy set line and pull steady when you see birds at a distance
Spaniel
I have thought about attaching the decoy on elestic etc or as you say just attach another line to give it a tug, but its just another thing todo, as well as working the caller and holding the gun etc, i was just thinking something like the propeller decoy would cut down on things to mess about with so i can concerntrate on the shooting Thanks
pavman
Never had a need to add any extra movement i lay out gangs of up to 50 or 100 deeks in 2's and 3's spaced so the dogs can work and it looks as real as poss (if thats poss) i find numbers works as it looks like a party is on teh go and helps bring them in with some calling, it takes a while but now I have Highlander trained up he is quite helpfull Edited October 1, 2010 by pavman
