went out with the old fella again tuesday to 2 fields of drilling we shot 50 last week on;big flocks of birds seeing them everywhere now.

we watched earlier in the day and not much flighting;so had a look at another area and a lot of of birds there but again not really flighting to one spot some going into a wood some on a stubble off the boundary and so on.

decided to head back to first place we viewed knowing that the pigeons had been on it the previous day so good chance of getting some..

tey started flighting proper about 1.30pm so parked up picked the spot and set up;good wind blowing also had birds in after 2 mins got rotary going and they came in nice and steady for next 2 1/2 hours.we shared the semi auto again and we both missed some sitters;we couldn;t beleive we had missed

but in my defence i had 7 right and lefts that made up for the easy ones missed

shot 60. picked 54

good shooting again.

im seeing the same thing around here. well over 50% of birds are squabs so much so that i stopped shooting yesterday as it was getting silly. last two trips with 145'ish birds i would say around 80 would have been young ones with the neck bars just coming out.

I have never seen so many. i will leave them for a bit now, unless farmers request it, as its next years breads i guess,
