Bloke
When I was a lad.... making slingshot arrows from a garden cane and a couple of playing cards, plus a boot lace...anyone remember making the above? God, yes I remember them, one of the older lads glued a 6-inch nail in the end of the cane and put it about 2 1/2 inches into a tree from about 40yds, deadly things, it's a wonder we didn't get hurt ! (Fun, though !) My prized item was a WWII hand grenade that I had found in woods at the back of the RAF camp when my dad was was stationed in Germany in 1962- the armourers took it away, steamed the explosive out of it, soldered the holes up and gave me it back (Top blokes ). We used to chuck it at each other when we were playing soldiers, if we got bruised, our parents said we should have dodged quicker ! I was gutted :look: when my dad made me give it to my mate when we left for the UK, he reckoned it would cause a ruckus at customs (You think ??! )

12borejimbo
Im only 22 so I cant really have a say, but I love hearing old stories from my gran and my old man, really takes my mind away and appreciate what you have! I always say to my mates about when mobile phones came out, but before they did you just used to say, "meet me down the park at 4" and you would be there dead on, now everyone panics if your not there at 4. Good old summer holidays when all you had was a few quid, a huge bag of sweets and your BMX. Max respect to everyone who struggled!
