johnskevena
Has a strange thing happen last night. Was calling on a golf course and a fox came out of a glen bout 200 yds below us but was very cautious.I could see another fox coming in like a train from a distance so i waited for him to come in . The first fox had slowly startd to come in to the call and it was not long before the second fox was up with him and they were about 10 yrds apart coming in together. I was preparing to take a shot at the first fox hoping the second fox would stay around long enough as he was not as cautious after the shot to get a crack at him with a shot when the first fox changed direction and started going towards the other fox. Next thing the first fox attacked the second fox anf they begin fighting in the middle of the field. I could not belive my eyes! I had seen foxes fighting in daylight but never at night under the situation of being called and lamped. Managed to drop one fox but the other one took of like a bat out of hell. Has anyone else ever witnessed this while calling foxes at night?
Frank
Yes John i have, it happened last year. 4 of them were at it and they were going mad running all over the place and eventually disepeared into forestry, could not get them to stand, so never got a shot at them. It was fasenating to watch all the same  , made my hairs stand on the back of my neck.
Dunkield
I bet the one that ran off thinks he is really hard now, having killed the other one with his bare paws

I was in two minds if i should try to stalk up on them with one of my shooting partners and try to get tem both with shotguns because they were oblivious to everything else around them while they were fighting and the wind was perfect for us but I decided against it. The way i got them to stand for the shot was i got my friend to bang a stick of a biscuit tinw it ha stick and this got there attention long enough for to pull off a shot on one. Went back to the place and could see a fox about 3/4 of a mile across the glen but could have been there for a week calling him and he would not have come in.Wind was wrong for us too but he made no attempt to come to the call Looks like i am going to have to but down a few wires for him
