mark*
not been shooting long but love it, my work mate got me into clay shooting and used his berretta DT10 and shot ok with it, so got meself a license and a lincoln interchoke (Cheepy) but this gun suits me better than most of the bigger name gun makers (dont know why) lad at the clay shooting club said bit more practice and a better shotgun and he said i would do well in comps but does having a bigger name make you shoot better? HDAV
What sort of clays are you shooting? As far as i know, if the gun fits and you point it in the right direction it doesnt matter if it cost £50 or £50k DT10 are a lovely gun and will outlast cheaper makes. A consideration if you shoot 20,000+ carts a year... if you shoot 5,000 carts a year may be an issue. If you are considering competive shooting get a lesson or 2 with a proper CPSA, APSI etc coach to work on your technique and make sure you dont pick up bad habbits that will limit your potential Edited October 18, 2010 by HDAV
clayman
but does having a bigger name make you shoot better? Absolutely not. A Baikal that fits you will out perform a Perazzi that doesnt. Comfort and fit is everything. When you are AAA tiny differences in pattern quality etc with a premium gun might make 1-2 kills per 100 difference, and mean the outcome is first not second - but while you are short of A class your money is best invested in getting good method in place to improve scores, not replacing guns. When you are a competent B moving to A, it may be time to replace, but until then learn with what you have provided you are confident with it and IT FITS Edited October 21, 2010 by clayman
Gordon R
Your gun is okay for your usage. I won a degree of money, drink, trophies with a Winchester 91 (Laurona) 28" choked 1/4 and 1/4, in the mid to late 80's. I have since moved up in the gun stakes, just as my shooting has gone in the opposite direction. I have to add that a few injuries, plus my lads getting in to Motocross have played their part. If your gun fits you, learn to shoot with it, takes lessons, take advice.
