If we are in Afghanistan for reasons of domestic security as Bliar insisted then why aren't we invading Pakistan, Leeds and Manchester? That's where terrorists who have harmed this country are known to come from.

We are in Afghanistan for reasons of acquiring oil and minerals, and there aren't any more troops to send because the American public have lost their appetite for the campaign, and are angry at having to shore up the shortages caused by their allies pulling out.

I share ure loathing of non english speaking ghettos inside of our own country, and as u do I'm sure,I feel they should be integrated into society rather than accommodated, a couple of mumbai style attacks will I'm sure precipitate armed forces of some kind being on those aforementioned streets,be it police/army but I think we are a ways off that yet. As for this oil thing,I repeat my earlier that troops are available for insertion into Afghanistan,so again I say to you there is no immediate want of these so called resources,or there would be many more troops there. The people of Afghanistan that have water, electric,tv,regular food justice an economy schools etc do not want to return to the days of old,and this is how the insurgents will eventually fail.

Rare earths are the "iums" found it tiny quantities (in mining terms!) that are used to make loads of stuff that we use, mainly electronics, chips etc., coatings for lenses (scopes!) and other specialist coatings, the production of top quality alloys, specialist bombs, bullets and guidance systems, and of course the little magnets that can pick up unreal amounts of weight :good:

As China just happens to be sitting on the majority of it, and are becoming the Big Boys of worldwide hi-tech production, they are simply 'losing' orders, delaying deliveries or just refusing to supply anybody.

They have all but boycotted Japan as well, not sure why but the reason given is relativley trivial, but means China could make massive amounts of dosh and also increase its profile as a leader.

One good thing, the recycled stuff over here is now worth a fortune as demand outstrips supply :good: I get around £80 for ONE used cat, worn out as well, as the elements still exist inside them and can be recovered, even car batteries are in demand, I get £3 each, used to be 50p if you could find someone to even take them :good:

One used cat, ey?
