shootreview
Hi The guns needs you to re-produce recoil. easiest way to do this is to fire the first snap cap then with the gun still closed hit the but pad with the palm of your hand fairly hard. This will make the mechanism think its been shot and will then fire the second snap cap. Tank
You can also reset the sear lifter by flicking the safety on and back off again. Saves you bouncing the gun.

duck shooter 1
the other thing is that when i fire with snap caps in will they damage the gun because the pins make a hell of a dint in the snap caps
mcw65
just chuck the snap caps in the bin, they are a waste of money. If you use them to release the trigger springs you are only putting pressure on the ejector springs.

Surely the ejector springs are compressed when the gun is closed anyway, whether the gun has been "fired" or not?
mcw65
No,put 2 carts in the gun, close the gun, open the gun does it eject ? Answer NO unless it has been fired.
duck shooter 1
that is a good point but i would like a second opinion just to be sure
FinFerNan
As far as I know it works like this: The ejector springs are compressed as the gun is being cocked, ie as you open the gun (unless they are already compressed - ie in an un-shot gun) The opening is in effect in two stages, the first stage allows the released ejectors to operate. The 2nd part of the opening "Cocks" the gun which includes resetting the ejector springs. Firing the gun (amongst other things) releases the mechanism allowing the ejectors to work once the gun is opened again, and so the cycle is continued. Therefore opening a cocked but unfired gun means the ejectors remain compressed and therefore do not eject. Therefore snap caps do nothing to ejector springs, but do release to main (firing pin) springs. If you use your gun regularly, they are waste of money IMO. Hope that all makes sense Edited October 23, 2010 by FinFerNan
