majordisorder
So I had a crack at making Sloe Gin, Vodka and Whiskey for the first time this year and have just had the first taste test. It's only been a month but it was asking for it 1L Vodka + 1.5Kg Sugar + 1Kg Sloes --> Mmmmm, that's tasting great already, sickly sweet and syrupy but got real potential might last till the end of the month if I can hide it from my gf. 1L B Saphire + 200g Sugar + 1Kg Sloes --> Gross, need much more time and sugar. 1L Famous Grouse (it's all I had) + 100g Sugar + 1Kg Sloes --> Tastes like Sloe juice, added more sugar and won't touch again for another 3 months. Going out again tomorrow for more sloes and lots of Vodka
henry d
Too early for sloes IMHO, wait until there have been frosts or the fruit starts to wrinkle.
