MM
Nearly lost a pigeon decoy the other day to a bird of prey. I only saw it from the under side, and it had an almost white belly, with a black/brown head. About twice the size of a Kestrel. Any ideas? If you have an idea, please post a pic

milo2005
i would say a buzzard is about 4 times as big as a kezzy, it may have been a marsh harrier , as you are near the wirral and iv seen them before in the west
jason kaye
I'd say female sparrowhawk or a male goshawk, more likley to be a female spar though. Jase.
COACH
I`v had that several times and it`s always been a young and inexperienced Buzzard, they are often white/cream colour underneath.

chrispti
Here's a sparrow hawk
MM
well, my first thought was a sparrow hawk, but its colours were very clear and defined. It was deffo a falcon type, rather than an eagle type. Couldnt have been a buzzard as it was only about twice the size of a Kes.
