njc110381
Yeah, mine was bigger! Nice shooting. Where abouts did you take him? Close to home or did you travel a bit? Nice rifle too. Me and Rach are thinking of coming over maybe next year. I'm thinking we'll do maybe a week or two in a hotel somewhere and do the tourist thing and then come over and see you guys. Rach can only take two weeks holiday in autumn so depending on what you're up to I'll either go home again with her or stay for a couple more weeks to hunt with you. It'll be good to see you guys either way.

njc110381
Yeah. I think they call that a "detatched retina"! I always fancied a go on a .50 but over here they're so tightly restricted that it's quite hard work I think. It's not that we're not allowed them or that the governmant don't like them, rather that they're that powerful that our little island hasn't got many places you can safely let one off! I think they're restricted to a couple of military ranges where the public have access these days and I just don't want to have to drive that far to shoot targets. The ammo is expensive too, along with the rifles. When's Deer season in Canada? Is Bear season the same time roughly? I'd quite like to shoot a Black Bear next time I'm over if there are enough around? :look:

njc110381
Yeah I've still got my card. I need to get another trip out of it before it expires! You're welcome here any time and there are loads of Deer to have a go at. I got a nice little Doe tonight in fact. Whether you'll be able to take the head home I don't know - I struggled to get through customs with a bag of jerky when I came over! In fact I ate it in front of the woman as she was trying to take it off of me!
