BountyHunter
Would anyone have a mapping of .177 and .22 pellets? I know some assumptions must be made re muzzle velocity etc but I need to be able to estimate the lift on the pellet at a no of ranges along it's flight. My facilities here are limited and I can't test in the field. pabs
Lol, without knowing what pellet with what BC, at what speed, how the hell can anyone give you a ' map ' of what the projectile will do at a given range??!!!
inshallah
google chairgun pro and download it. Edited November 14, 2010 by inshallah
BountyHunter
Pabs- calm down a bit. I said that I knew there were variables: I was guessing that anybody who had some software would post a constructive reply along the lines of "do you know what pellet you are using and what power the rifle is chucking out." If I were an expert at these things I would know what software to use and would have done it myself by now; so perhaps in the future you might consider the variables before shooting from the hip? pabs
Sorry Bh! Your question was kind of along the lines of " What is the mpg consumption of my blue car?" But point taken, I could have been somewhat more helpful.............
BountyHunter
No you are cool, loads of people ask silly questions without thinking it out first M
turbo33
google chairgun pro and download it. Good call, you can enter everything, pellet make and therefore weight, muzzle velocity (assuming you know it) and your specified zero point. The software will do all the rest for you. Its pretty accurate: You will of course have to enter all the information, scope height, magnification, reticule type.good:
pabs
Yup, I use chairgun all the time, good little bit of software that is quite accurate. You can print cheat cards, turret tapes, scope cap cheats etc. The pre selectable pellet table is ok, but the BC values are a bit out there. Best to use two chronys and work out your BC for that day. A very slight change in BC value makes a huge difference to your predicted POI at the longer ranges, so its good to get as accurate values as possible. Dekers
No you are cool, loads of people ask silly questions without thinking it out first M Like you you mean! Sorry, couldn't resist it... ATB!! PS Remember any program is still only a GUIDE. All sorts of variables come in such as barrel length, crown, age, pellet fit (some like 5.5, 5.51 or 5.52mm)..it makes a big difference, how clean, how consistant, scope height, atmospheric pressure, temperature, general weather, etc etc etc.. You MUST check with live fire when you think you have it close from the charts!
