Sound Mod

Hi Folks,

Had my variation form returned today (was for a 22lr + sound mod) requesting further info. Like a numpty I forgot to write why I wanted the sound mod, and the letter requires a reply with my response. Anyone have a surefire response that I can provide for my wanting a sound mod?

Im thinking of saying I dont want to spook livestock but would this sole reason suffice?

That's a bit anal isn't it? Couldn't they just use their initiative and write it in for you?!

 

Just what Al4x said. Health and safety. There's no way on earth they'll refuse that because it leaves them open to legal action if you damage your hearing!

Thanks guys, I never thought of puttin my hearing down. I like the point that they would be liable for my hearing loss if they refuse it. WHAT???

I got asked for a written confirmation of the reasons I wanted a moderator by my FEO at his last visit for a variation.

First time I have been asked, usually just stick it on form 101 and that's it.

I did ask why, he said new policy, if I don't have good reason then I wouldn't get one.

I felt like saying don't bother then, I'll wear ear plugs, and Joe public can sue you for their hearing damage
