Sprackles
1 here but not much cheaper than £120 though. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ASSEMBLED-GREEN-FINISH-QUALITY-4FT-FOX-TRAP-CH623-/370441831344?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Weed_Pest_Control_CV&hash=item56400dc3b0
Glensman
So shotgun is a no no??? I would use the shotgun myself. If you know the neighbours it should be fine. and 'noone ever hears one shot.'
njc110381
Had a very quick look for cage traps and the only one I saw was £120, is that how much they are? Does anyone know a cheaper supplier? They're a lot of money. If you're like me and have plenty of time and interest but not so much in my wallet then make your own. Whenever you drive past a scrap yard just drop in and see if they have any weld mesh offcuts. I just got four sheets six feet long by two feet wide for a tenner. Add another tenner for wire and a few fittings and you've got yourself a trap. Mines nearly finished but it's taking a while! When it's done I'll send it out to a customer who can't afford to buy a trap for themselves. Generally I'll set a trap then return to shoot the contents and remove for £50. Up until now people have had to buy their own trap but if I put all the £50's in a jar I can start to make more and use more. You'd be surprised how fast your name will get around the local hobby hen keepers club and it can be quite profitable for what is often less than an hours work, one .22lr bullet and a bit of fuel if you're working locally.
