fortune82
Im going to be changing my SXS for an over and under in the near future. Anyway I have been pretty much set on getting a Miroku MK60 / 70. Today I went into a gunshop which had a Miroku 6000 grade 3 in stock. Lovely wood and engraving and the gun itself is in really good condition. The gun has also been fitted with aftermarket chokes by teague and the serial number dates it as 1991. Anyway the dealer wants £1050 for it. Is this about right or too much? What about reliability and spares, are there any issues? Thanks
Daveo26
I would say thats alot money mate your into grade 5 money, you can get a new mk70 gd1 for less than £1100. I know they are not as pretty but they are 3" and HP steel shot proof
fortune82
Where can you get an MK70 for £1100? The cheapest I have been quoted is £1350 from various places.

JRDS
I would say £700 - £800 was nearer the mark.
Cumbrian
You're paying extra for the teagues and associated work - about £300 worth. They will be better than the original invector chokes, but how much is difficult to say. You can get a Browning Citori for not much over £1000, which is much the same as the Miroku apart from the stock (a bit higher, which I prefer) and just possibly slightly more weight. See Guntrader. Browning's wood has improved lately, too.

Cumbrian
I think they were, so having multi chokes should enhance the value of the gun, depending on your own preferences of course. Might alter the balance a bit, but perhaps not.
fortune82
Yeah it has been retro fitted by Nigel Teague with a set of flush fitting choke tubes. To look at you would think the gun is fixed choke it is such a neat job. Looking on his website it would cost about £300 to have done today. Looking on guntrader there is a similar fixed choke gun for £945, the chokes are worth £100 in my opinion.
Daveo26
If you like the gun and it fits, buy it.
seeker
Had a gun Teagued ... almost invisible fitting and if they altered the balance I could not tell ... its down to how it suits you in fit and price. The Mirokus have always seemed a good piece of kit, and I prefer them over their Browning equivalents.
