Benellimelody
Defo not too old as above. I dont know what level of obedience and training or natural ability the dog has but you will hsve to start from the beginning again imo. Hard to say without seein the dog but it might by quite a "hot" dog if its had a lot of free running and need a fair amount of correction. Lots of good advice on here tho and more info might mean people can help you further Edited December 5, 2010 by Benellimelody

ROBLATCH
take things easy one step at a time.dont try and throw too much at him in one session. a little every day will give you far better results than trying to push 2 hours a week from him. be patient and dont over do it. activeviii
You don't train a cocker as it knows what it has to do, it trains you so you have to ask it to do things and trick it at times to get the result you want. force it or get to heavy and pup will shut down and sulk. always finish on a positive. cockers are grate at trying to read your mind and getting it wrong so try not to keep doing the same things the same way or you may find the dog tries to be one step ahead of you. once you have what you want out of the dog you need to just keep topping it up else things will slip. the cocker master class dvds are good and well worth a watch to get the idea as to whats needed.
