Hi... New to forum... A quick post as I will be investing in a new air ruble soon. I like the TDR practicallity of these two rifles but would like to put it out there for a debate to help me find my decision

A gunpower stealth

V

A logun S16

I believe that Edgar brothers have taken over the Logun s16 and improved it, don't know if this is correct info though.

Also , I have moved to south coast and now need to find a new permission, gun club etc.

Cheers

Hi Jasonbourne and welcome,

Sorry cant speak about Logun, I do have a Stealth, you will find reactions to the Stealth a bit like Marmite, the lovers and haters.

I understand the haters as these guns are easy to work on, however that tempts a lot of would -be gunsmiths to experiment and mess up a good gun and sell it on for someone else to enjoy (or not) their fruits of experimentation! :o

I bought s/h and mine was a goodin and I love mine, why, its light, pointable, accurate and flexable. I have two buddy bottles, I have one set at 8.5 Ft Lbs for plinking/target practice in garden, another bottle with the valve set for full power for when hunting on my permission. Its easy to add on with its rail bars any accessory that takes your fancy, lamps, lasers...as said being light its easy to carry about all day, like a lot of airguns a bit fussy on pellet diet, mine loves JSB exacts pellet with on pellet at 35 yds..

Talon airgun .com has a lot of helpful info for gunpower stealth (American site, they call it Airforce Talon SS)

Their is however no magazine and is single shot, however a lot of hunters will agree with me one shot one kill, so should not be an issue.

Hope this helps a little Im sure someone will give you their view on Logun! :hmm:

Regards, mentor

i can only speak for the s16 as i have never owned a stealth,i had an s16s and it was very accurate out to 50 yards, quiet and well made.you have to be very positive with the cocking lever because it will jam otherwise,it's had a lot of bad press because of this which is undeserved.i sold it because it was too heavy, imo they are more of an ambush rifle than a stalking rifle.

Not only is there a lot of bad press about the s16 but there are loads of them put up for sale at any one time. That must tell you something as they weren't that popular.

Personally I can't see the practicality of a TDR rifle. Hassle yes, practicality, no

you've never owned one have you?

I used to own an S16 and thought it was a great gun for getting out and Bunny Bashing. As has been said they are a bit heavy and have had some bad press but in all the time I had it (2 years)I never had a problem. My friend was starting up with the shooting so I gave it to him and to date I have never heard him say that he has had a problem with it. The gun is now 5 years old. It is great for attaching goodies like a laser and lamping kit and when using the bi-pod I was able to get some very impressive groups out to 50 yards. Sorry I have never even fired the stealth so can’t comment on it.

the op was asking for advice, how can you give that if you've never owned one.

The comments I made do not refer to personal use. They are a warning about the unusually high level of negative comments from users and sales of faulty Logun 16s that I have personally encountered.
