owd'bum
Hi all, Just received an o/u 12g off a mate, on a give, never heard of maker (Boito, Brazil??) It is a nice peice of kit, plain but functional, thought I might use it as a knockabout after woodies etc. only problem is, the barrels are pitted it isn't really bad, but it is obvious....anybody know whether it would be worth getting it sorted (re-sleeved?), and what sort of cost I would be looking at? Thanks in advance, Owdarse PS: Sorry if this question has been asked elswhere on the message board! :*)
Gemini
Gun worth £100- Re-sleeving £400- Gun worth after re-sleeving- £150 Wouldn't bother G.M.

Cranfield
Gemini sums it up very nicely. A good tip when examining barrels, look down them from the sight end. If you think its pitted looking from the chamber end, it usually looks worse from the other end.
old rooster
Worth considering having the barrels honed if the pitting is very light.

Gemini
Good idea. I have a Chas Osborne with pitted barrels and on the rare occasions that I take it out I put 25 grm “Training” cartridges through it. Works great with very little recoil. G.M.
