eddoakley
As per title. Does anybody has any good plans for high seats? I have been asked to make a couple in return for some stalking and am looing for some decent plans. Double or single seats steel(or aluminium) or timber.... dont really mind. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers Edd
Kenyan
Just stick it in Google. Theres loads of stuff about. Try doing the same in the Stalking Directory web site, You might even get a cutting list. I've made so many over the years, metal and timber one, I now just work it out as I go along. eddoakley
I was hoping to just make it up as i go but it might be better to show the guy who needs them some designs and let him decide. I would prefer to do it in timber(I am a carpenter/joiner by trade ) an build it/them in situ. I know portable ones would probably be better but I reckon I could build it in situ a lot quicker and cheaper Edd

I'd recommend not making the ladder and seat joint angle 90deg's. 100-105 degs is better and safer. I'd just get on and make them. Its not as if you don't have the know how. Scully
As has been said,'stalking' websites may be a source. As a 'tradis' builder we make ours from masonite and decking actually built in situ into the bowls of a suitable tree, basically just made up as we go along and bolted in place with 'timberlock' bolts. We then add access by whatever means suits. The advantage of this is that they look totally natural, even more so with the addition of some scrim, and if it wasn't for the ladders you wouldn't know they were there. The obvious disadvantage is that they're not transportable.
