jake202
hi guys, is anyone on here managing to successfully decoy pigeons close range using a .410 in the hide? if so what cartridges are you using and what decoy patterns work best for you? ive read a few articles about using suppressed .410's and i think it could increase my chances on a few of my permission's where pigeons seem to be very wary of gun noise, im picking up a Hushpower 410 pump Mossberg next week, hoping i can pull some pigeons in close! here are some articles on them i have found : http://www.sportinggun.co.uk/gunshow/342832/Pigeon_shooting_with_a_moderated_shotgun.html http://www.saddleryandgunroom.co.uk/gunroom/hushpower/Ed_Cooke_review.htm what do we think? thanks in advance! jake :good:
utectok
It Can be done but its pretty challenging but fun!! I shoot near some houses occasionally and use a mossy hushpower with eley fourlong no 6s got to be under 25 yrds thou. I have some 3" fob 21 gms no 5s they are good for up to 35 yrds or more but very noisy so I go for 2 1/2" carts and pick my shots.
chrispti
Just bring the decoy pattern in closer and 3'' cartridges with #6 size shot will do the job
