bigsam Posted February 26, 2006 Report Share Posted February 26, 2006 evening all had a good roost flight tonight. went up my bit of woodland but shot on the other side that i dont usually shoot, but did tonight cos of how the winds was. had a few shots and picked up 6 plump birds at the end of it. the birds were just right coming overhead just over the tree tops. my trusty aya had an outing and didnt disapoint makes a nice change to use it after using my auto for a while. all in all a very enjoyable flight one that will remain for a while in my mind cheers BS Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ROB REYNOLDS UK Posted March 5, 2006 Report Share Posted March 5, 2006 (edited) did a few hours saturday afternoon shot about 18 ,mate shot 15 pigeons coming in to roost most were high up, but i did a few magical shots that i was well happy with ,it was one of the best days iv had for a long time did miss a lot to tell you the truth as most were high up but they kept on coming in ,in flocks of 3,12 and 20 pigeons at a time so they are breaking up at long last ,going to have a good day soon , i ..was useing no6 36grams they were dead in the air then ran out and back on the no6 30 and 32 gram shells i going to buy 36grm from now on far better kills ..i dont know if there dead in the air or just weighted down with the lead of them 36gms Edited March 5, 2006 by ROB REYNOLDS UK Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ROB REYNOLDS UK Posted March 6, 2006 Report Share Posted March 6, 2006 32in my kind of gun and full choke in both its a hit or miss then, far better to learn with this kind of gun as you can tell were your hitting them with a tight choke ..1/2 choke is about the lowest i will go unless there real close ..try some 36grm shells if you can aford them as most pigeons will drop in the field and not in the next Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

plexer Posted March 6, 2006 Report Share Posted March 6, 2006 Went for a few hours in the woods on saturday but even though I was in an ideal spot with a gap in the trees in front for the birds to come through, lovely ivy trees all around and a nice big bush as a natural hide in front of me I shot 0 woodies as the didn't come in to that part.
