Sniper-Blend
Pests Act 1954 Under the Pests Act 1954, the whole of England and Wales, apart from the City of London, the Isles of Scilly and Skokholm Island, has been declared a rabbit clearance area. Within this area, occupiers of land have a continuing obligation to kill or take any wild rabbits living on, or resorting to, there land, or to prevent the rabbits causing damage elsewere by, for example, fencing them in with rabbit-proof fencing. Failure to fulfil these obligations may lead to the occupier being prosecuted or the work carried out at there expense. I found this and didnt even know about the land owners obligations myself but i did know about the clearance...just thought it may help some to gain shooting permission hope it helps

Dave-G
Well sorry guys, I doubt if poor grammar will produce results - but it might if it was spelt correctly? Best copy and paste it

Dave-G
Dont take such offence at that suggestion SB. My kids didn't get the standard of education that was given in the good old days when poor spelling and such were met with a cane or pointer. My finger tips were frequently black and blue - and with my parents blessing too. We simply HAD to get it right. The point I'm trying to make is that many of the farmers you are trying to impress are old enough to have had a fair education - and would pick this out if you showed that pest act to him. Even the younger ones probably get a better education in the small towns than most city schools can offer.
Sniper-Blend
My point is not that you print it off and show him but state to the farmer what it is, i wasnt taking offence mate as i wasnt the one written it just copyed it. I also hold my hands up to bad spelling on my part as i know i am not all that good at it. Anyway its a possible that i think may work with some land owners and i am going to test it aswel as there is a farm near me that has more rabbits than any other place i shoot and i am itching to get permission hopefully anyway lol as i tryed for permission before with no luck Edited February 27, 2006 by Sniper-Blend
Dave-G
Here's where you could compare spelling, then copy and paste from: http://www.defra.gov.uk/corporate/regulat/...rtpest/pa11.pdf All the best with that potential new permission SB Edited February 27, 2006 by Dave-G
