CZ550Kevlar
Yes the authority to posess ONE, thats the one that you originally applied for, not any others even if you sell that one... You are breaking the law read here on the bottom of the application forms >>> And yet my FEO phoned Maidstone to double check and they passed it as ok, also on another variation my licence went off and came back with no problems, even the FLO manager passed it ok. I guess they interpret the law different then.... what i quoted above is on the licence application/variation forms
gixer1
si if you wanted to go from say a .22LR bolt action to a .22 underlever - is this a variation or a 1 for 1? i just added an additional .22 but if i had sold my other would it have been a 1 for 1 or variation due to the difference in action types? even though its not like a semi auto to bolt etc? regards, Gixer
CZ550Kevlar
You apply for a "calibre" not action, .22RF will allow you Breech loading, Pump, Bolt, Semi, Straight pull, underlever, sharpes etc etc
nobby63
Now Im getting confused ! I was told to apply for calibre and must state action eg .22 bolt action and then eg .22 self loading if I want to purchase either or both and also you must state if you intend to use a moderator on both guns again have two slots ! Even if you buy only one mod and swap use for both guns. Headache ! Its about time some body sorted this out. And to top it off .22lr or .22 wmr what does it say on your Cert ? PROBS just .22 rf ? but what a differance in ammo ! Edited February 22, 2011 by nobby63
nobby63
KEVLAR Just double checked with the 101 application from my force Durham and it does state you must state action
apache
KEVLAR Just double checked with the 101 application from my force Durham and it does state you must state action You state action for guns you already have, but not on calibres required. I put down on my application .22RF. I was granted a slot for a .22RF. Could have bought a WMR, LR etc. I have an ammo allowance for .22RF. nobby63
I was told to state Calibre and action, eg (only wrote) .22 bolt action , this is because they said why would you want two rifles the same ? you only need one So by then asking for a self loading they granted a second slot of the same calbre this is why the system is ******** ! :lol:Now it makes a purchase choise easier. If you want two of the same calibre you can understand why they are asking you to state the action. Unless your rifles are for target shooting or you NEED a second setup for NV why would you want two ba/sa 22rf (unless its lr/wmr) can't see a problem having to justify why you need an extra 22 slot. apache
I usually fax it to them or take it in by hand The thing I like with registered post is you have signed proof it got there. Other than a photo of you, a member of the firearms team, your FAC and the days newspaper could you prove you gave it in person!

When you hand it in at my local station they give you a receipt for it so you have proof of it being handed over.
